    • Tuberculosis (TB) is a communicable disease that is a major cause of ill health.

    • TB is caused by the bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb)

காசநோய் 

  • காசநோய் என்பது ஒரு தொற்று நோய். இது மனிதனின் உடல்நலத்தை மிகவும் பாதிக்கின்றது.
  • “மைக்கோ பாக்டீரியம்  டியூபர்குளோசிஸ்”  எனும் கண்ணுக்குத்  தெரியாத மிக நுண்ணிய கிருமியால் மனிதனுக்குக் காசநோய் உருவாகின்றது.
  • காசநோய் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட ஒருவர், இருமும் போதும் தும்மும் போதும், பேசும் போதும், பாடும் போதும் வெளிவிடுகின்ற திரவத் துளிகள் மூலம் காசநோய் கிருமி, காற்றில் கலந்து பிறருக்குப் பரவுகிறது. பொதுவாக, காசநோய் என்பது காற்றின்  மூலம் பரவக்கூடிய ஒரு தொற்று நோய் ஆகும்.
  • உலக அளவில் அதிக இறப்புகளை உண்டாக்கும் முதல் 10 நோய்களில் காசநோய் முதன்மையான ஒன்றாகும்.
